Yeah, I realize people have verbal tics, but if you had Patrick saying 'like' six times a sentence, it would be just as annoying. There is a big difference between listening to someone talk and reading it. The beauty of the written word is that you get to say what you want while skipping all the troubles of conversation, IE, no run-on sentences, no getting off-topic, no struggling to find the right words.
All I'm saying is that to place 'kind of' at the end of a sentence, especially a sentence where 'kind of' really makes no sense, doesn't not flow in conversation. If you have to put it somewhere, can it at last go *in* the sentence instead of at the end?
Example: 'I wanna see what he got you, kind of' versus 'I kind of wanna see what he got you'.
The latter makes way way more sense and also flows a lot easier off the tongue.
But if you want to continue to make the dialogue unspeakably stilted and awkward, go for it.
